Re: Important Reminders for the 219th Commencement Ceremony
Congratulations on your upcoming graduation! Your intellect, creativity, and dedication have brought you to this significant occasion. Well done!
As you prepare to attend the 219th Commencement Ceremony, we wish to ensure the event is enjoyable and safe for all involved. Please take a moment to review the following important information:
- Adherence to RPI’s Handbook of Student Rights and Responsibilities: Students are expected to conduct themselves in accordance with RPI’s guidelines and policies.
- Ticket Requirement: Please follow the ticket instructions you received from Tassel. Guests must have tickets to enter the stadium, and tickets will be checked at the door. All graduates are required to show their Stage Pass. You may show this via a QR code on a mobile device.
- Prohibited Substances: The use of alcohol and/or controlled substances is prohibited.
- Cell Phone Etiquette: To minimize distractions, please mute or silence your cell phones and similar devices during the ceremony.
- Respectful Behavior: Please refrain from using noisemakers or shouting out of respect for the attendees, speakers, and graduates.
- Restrictions on Items:
- Balloons, large umbrellas, signs, flags, placards, and banners are not permitted, to ensure everyone’s visibility and safety.
- Wrapped packages are not permitted inside the stadium. Guests should leave wrapped gifts at home or in their hotel as they will not be permitted into the stadium.
- Bag Search: For security purposes, all bags, including purses, will be subject to search by the RPI Department of Public Safety. To avoid delays, individuals are encouraged to leave bags off-site if possible.
- Honor Your Classmates: Commencement is a reflection of the hard work and accomplishments of you and your classmates. You arrived as a class and are graduating as a class. Please return to your seat after walking across the stage and remain to celebrate your classmates as they take their turn across the stage.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in making this graduation ceremony a memorable and safe event. We look forward to celebrating your achievements together!
