Important Information for Bicentennial Commencement

We look forward to celebrating your class on Saturday, May 18, 2024, at our Bicentennial Commencement. It will begin at 8:30 a.m. EDT in the East Campus Athletic Village (ECAV) stadium. Please take a moment to review the important information below:

Tickets
Please make sure your guests have their Bicentennial Commencement tickets, which can be found in Marching Order.

Rehearsal
A rehearsal for the Bicentennial Commencement was held earlier today, May 15. If you were unable to attend, please watch the recording prior to Commencement on Saturday.

Attire
Be sure to wear your cap and gown and bring your RPI ID. Wear flat, comfortable shoes as you will be walking on turf and grass. High heels should be avoided.

Parking, Arrival, and Check-In
On Saturday, arrive at Harkness Field for check-in at 7 a.m. If you are driving to Commencement, please park in the North Lot or Parking Garage on College Avenue and take the campus shuttle. There will be no parking at the Houston Field House or ECAV. 

After you check in, please pick up your graduation card and line up on the track in numerical order. There will be signs and volunteers at the lineup areas to direct you to the correct location. If you lose your card, please let your marshal know as soon as possible.

Seating
Seating for guests is on a first-come, first-served basis. Accessible seating is located on the stadium floor. There are no special tickets required for this.

Diplomas
Diplomas will not be handed out at Commencement and will be mailed to you two to three weeks after the ceremony. Be sure to update your contact information so that we have this on file following Commencement.

Bicentennial Commencement Picnic
You and your guests are invited to join us for the Bicentennial Commencement Picnic immediately following the Commencement ceremony. It is free of cost and will take place on the '86 Field and Hassan Quad.
